WHERE TO, MISS?
WHERE TO, MISS?
Bringing back her voice - from female subjugation to liberation in the forms of soft resilient percussion vessels
Where to, Miss? is a two-piece series of coiled and embroidered soft sculptures and percussion instruments that explore female objectification and the longing for liberation.
The first piece takes the form of a vase—an object historically tied to femininity and passivity—reimagined as a tactile, sound-producing body that resists silence and subjugation.
The second, baby siren, is an abstract embodiment of freedom: rounded, responsive, and resonant, it draws on the dual symbolism of the “siren” as both warning and mythical voice.
Together, these works use touch and sound to reclaim agency, giving form to the agonised yet resilient feminine psyche in search of autonomy.
