Reconnect with the Divine Self

Reconnect with the Divine Self

“Reconnect with the Divine Self” is a series of textile installations that reinterpret traditional Taiwanese and Chinese embroidery techniques through personal narrative and sacred cultural symbolism.

This project began as an inward gesture, a desire to reconnect with the sense of divinity I locate at the core of my being, which I understand as the source of both energy and creative impulse. Throughout the process, I found myself drawn to the sacred motifs of the Dragon and Phoenix, figures deeply embedded in the religious and visual culture of my hometown in Taiwan. Their presence emerged intuitively, as both spiritual anchors and symbolic extensions of my inner landscape.

The project takes form through three embroidered works, each incorporating these mythological elements as a way of cultivating a more intimate connection with this inner divinity. Rooted in traditional Taiwanese and Chinese embroidery techniques that I have previously studied, the works are reimagined through subtle interventions and personal adaptations. These gestures allow the pieces to hold layered meanings—bridging inherited cultural language with individual experience.
